Job Title: Bookkeeper
Reports To: Head of Finance
Contract: Part-Time for 15-25 hours/per week, preferably 4 or 5 mornings or afternoons
Location: Office-based in North London
Jewish Futures is a UK-based not-for-profit organisation which creates, incubates and scales dynamic educational organisations and initiatives both in the UK and abroad, propelling each forward to ensure vibrant Jewish futures. Each organisation under Jewish Futures’ umbrella has its own scope, audience and identity.
Jewish Futures is looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to join its busy Finance Team to support the finance processes for each of its charities.
MAIN DUTIES:
Posting and reporting on donations and receipts, on QuickBooks
Helping to process supplier invoices in a timely manner
Looking after and controlling bank accounts, including PayPal and credit cards; monitoring and posting all entries from these core input sources to QuickBooks
Preparing regular journal entries for nominal ledger as examples for monthly wages, prepayments, standing orders, other payments and receipts
Reconciling control accounts in nominal ledger, accruals prepayments, deposits and inter-charity accounts
General review of balance sheet to ensure control over all assets and liabilities
Reviewing expenses and costs incurred by the organisations, questioning and recommending opportunities to make cost savings or spend more effectively
Gift Aid claims, including recording of data that enables claims to be made effectively
Regular communication with staff and suppliers an accounting issues, ensuring enquiries on accounting matters are dealt with in a timely manner.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2 years practice or 2 years of bookkeeping experience
ATT/Part qualified ACCA/ACA/Degree
Strong IT skills, with proficiency in MS Office Suite, QuickBooks and other accounting software
Highly adaptable with the ability to multitask and prioritise an ever-demanding workload whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
