About the role
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance. The successful candidate will be an experienced accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified) leading a finance team of four staff members. As Head of Finance, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the finance function, delivering timely and accurate reports to senior management while working closely with various members of the JFT team.
Key responsibilities
Manage the processes for the prompt and accurate recording of all transactions for the charities
Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and other regular reports to provide insights into financial performance
Prepare annual budgets, and cash flow forecasts, to facilitate effective financial planning
Manage cash-flow across the charities
Maintain and develop internal systems for continuous process improvement and efficiency, with a particular focus on automation and AI integration of systems
Lead the annual audit process for all company charities, preparing schedules and addressing auditor enquiries
Help inform decision-making across the organisation through providing financial advice and advancing risk considerations
Present budgets and financial information at trustee meetings of charities, as required
Assist with managing charity commission requirements and set-up of new charities when required
Assist with ongoing projects within the organisation, providing financial expertise and support
Assist the CEO and the fundraising team
Support the COO with budget and cost efficiencies
Undertake any other responsibilities as required by the COO or senior management
Person Specification & Essential Qualifications and Experience
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with a minimum of eight years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)
Proven experience in managing a finance team, demonstrating the ability to influence and inspire others
Solid experience in preparing finance reports for management to report on operational activities
Ability to play a hands-on role to manage the finances for multiple operational businesses

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and aptitude for financial software (JFT uses Quickbooks accounts)
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality in all financial reporting
Passion to thrive in a fast-paced working environment, balancing multiple priorities
Capacity to support and manage multiple stakeholders, and to balance a broad spectrum of financial requirements across the organisation
